Thanks!! Greetings All, Huge thanks to the Summit Stage Team for coming together and making things great for those who are fortunate enough to work here. After 8 hours of collaborative negotiation, the group of 10 participants (union and management) came to a tentative agreement on 20 critical issues. Thank you also to the Commissioners who’s sound leadership and support of our employees made this all possible. Our intention is to draft new language for the Collective Bargaining Agreement and after final votes and signatures, execute the agreement in the coming weeks. Below are the major items of the twenty that were hammered out yesterday. Please stay tuned for more details as the process concludes. Wages – New, 4-step, pay program exclusive to transit drivers. Beginning wage is $28.25 with a final step (4th year) of $35.25. Pay scale moves up $1.00 each year and there are 3 longevity increases: 10 years ($1.00), 15 years ($2.00) and 20 years ($3.00). Changes will be made retroactively to July 3rd 2022. Dispatchers and Supervisors will be adjusted commensurate with these increases. Disciplinary Records – Disciplinary records will be disregarded after 2 years except for major infractions which will remain for 4 to 9 years depending on severity and category. Performance Bonus – Quarterly performance bonus will increase from $300 to $500. Housing – Housing limits extended to 3 years instead of 2 years. Employees may stay beyond 3 years if waiting list is empty. Employees may reapply after I year away. Premium Pay for Extra-Territorial Routes – This special pay type will increase from $1.50/hour to $3.00/hour Vacation Allowances – Vacation allowances will not drop below 3 days/2 nights. 40-Hour Guarantee – The 40-hour guarantee will remain in place. As always, if you have questions, reach out to your supervisor for more information. And please give them time to get up to speed as this is a new agreement that will not go into effect for several weeks. If you would like to discuss the specifics of the negotiation of any of the finer points of the CBA, please feel free to reach out directly to me.
